Country Weekly - September 18, 2001

The Dixie Chicks are interrupting their hiatus to take the stage for the first time this year - and for the first time every, they will be back by a full string orchestra.  The invitation-only "Texas Twilight Gala" will showcase the trio in a unique acoustic performance with the Austin Symphony Orchestra.  Grammy-winning folk-rocker Shawn Colvin in also scheduled to perform.  All proceeds from the Sept. 15 performance at the Austin Music Hall will go to PAL, the Pediatric AIDS League of Texas, and also the University of Houston's Pediatric HIV Program and the Pediatric AIDS Network of Dallas.  The Chicks' relationship with PAL began with the birth of lead singer Natalie Maine' son, Jackson Slade, in March.  At that time, Maines requested that fans make donations to the organization in lieu of baby gifts.  For more information on helping PAL, call (512) 892-4776.
