TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "The Dixie Chicks: On the Fly" - 8 p.m., Channel 10 (NBC); rated PG
Not since Garth Brooks has Nashville been hit by a force as undeniable as the Dixie Chicks.
Forget the name, which makes them sound like transformed Spice Girls. Instead, this trio provides a brilliant blend.
Instrumentally, it's classic country. Martie Seidel is a great fiddler and her sister, Emily Robison, does the rest, from banjo to dobro.
Vocally, however, the Chicks deliver with a twang. Natalie Maines provides voal firepower.
These Chicks can make a good song great; they can also turn a great song - "Sin Wagon" or the incomparable "Goodbye Earl" - into a classic.
This special inserts a few scenes with Andy Dick pretending to be a network consultant. Mostly, however, it simply has a superbly filmed concert. With the Dixie Chicks, that's enough for great television.
